Check out the site on your preferred pocket-rocket and see what you think.

Of course, for the best experience, you still want to get the FREE RadiOblivion app on yer iPhone/iPod Touch and Android machines so you can listen to the podcast when the urge overtakes you. Plus it does other swell things too. Just meander yer way to your respective app stores and get it today.

State Of The 'Oblivion Address

Radioblivion_-_blow_up_350px

November 27th marked the anniversary of RadiOblivion. Four years of Wild Sounds & Rock 'N' Roll!

I was gonna take a stab at being clever (thus the post title) and list all the things I consider as "accomplishments", but decided against it due to lack of coffee (laziness) and the fact that it would come across as extremely silly - even for my standards. Instead I'll just leave it at a big fat "thank y'all" for tuning in for each (or, at least some) of the 64 plus adventures in Better Living Through Discarded Music! These bad-boys have been listened to nearly a quarter of a million times. And getting feedback from all the folk that have discovered new favorite bands and tracks through RadiOblivion is what its all about, baby. Thats the biggest accomplishment I can think of, at least.

So get out there and spread the word about all things Wild & Primitive, and we'll see you for the next eppy-sode. And remember...

Blow Yer Radio Up, Baby!!

Halloween And No Halloween

2648273936_61b5e7ab1b

Hey, you spooky and kookie boils n' ghouls - tonight is the 4th anual "No Halloween" show emanating from Kaiser Studio B and RadiOblivion HQ LIVE on Real Punk Radio at 10pm, ET. That's right! 4 years straight of absolutely no Halloween themes. Still can't wrap my gray matter around the concept of this being the 4th anual event, yet RadiOblivion celebrates it's fourth anniversary next month. Math has never been my strong suit; Wild Sounds and Rock 'n' Roll has!

However, we do have a Halloween treat fer ye over at the RadiOblivion Shoppe on Zazzle: for the the rest of the week you can save $5.00 on any black t-shirt. Five Greenbacks, baby!! You know, if you get real creative on the site you can knock them shirts down to bargain basement prices, too. Search for economy shirts when you land on the de-signs you dig most and you'll hear the limbo dancers chanting "how low can you go?" So head over to the official RadiOblivion Shoppe, pick yerself out something nice... and BLACK... and t-shirt-y and enter promo code OCTSHIRTSALE at check to receive the discount.

And we'll see you tonight for RadiOblivion Wild & Primitive... LIVE!

The Amazing Altruism Of Friends, Acquaintances and Strangers

Yesterday I swallowed whatever little pride I may have had and posted this blog in a desperate plea for help on behalf of my family. I just have to express how taken aback I am by the amazing altruism of friends, acquaintances and even complete strangers. I am no wordsmith, so to properly express my gratitude leaves me wanting. I don't know what to say except "thank you". To quote a hero of mine - "We live in troubled times; trouble resting on my mind". I'm so accustomed to reading everyday on the news about people that do and say ugly, nasty things that I have forgotten that people like to help people. I hope that one day soon I'll be able to pay the kindness that we have been shown forward.

We are by no means out of the forest. In fact, we may need to set-up camp there. But I want to use this opportunity to publicly express my thanks and gratitude to each of you that have donated, purchased a t-shirt or spread the word about our plight. There are wonderfully kind people our there, and I never want to forget it.

Sincerely,

Michael Kaiser

Help

It is with great trepidation that I write this post. I don't even know how to word it in a way that doesn't make me feel sick. But desperation is getting the better of me. My family and I desperately need your help. We're literally on the brink of losing our home - if the process hasn't started already. That's it in a nutshell.

Friends, if you have ever at all thought about buying a RadiOblivion t-shirt please consider doing it today. It would help. I earn a buck or two for every shirt sold on Zazzle through the RadiOblivion Shoppe. Please use that link; its that one that tells Zazzle that I referred you, and I get a referral fee on top of the commission. If you purchase $50.00 or more you're supposed to be able to save %10 with coupon code, WILDSOUNDS12 at checkout. There is also a great hand-screened shirt available at the Real Punk Radio store. And lastly, I put up a temporary Tip Jar/Donation button on the RadiOblivion page. It can be used with a PayPall account or with most credit cards. These, it seems, are the three best options.

I hate doing this; it makes me fee dirty. But we need help.

Sincerely,

Michael Kaiser

RPR Spot: I Shall Become A Smooth Jazz Bat

(download)

About 3 or 4 weeks ago I got an inter-office memo from station owner/operations manager, Jason "Big Guy" Snyderman, saying to record a new promo spot for rotation on Real Punk Radio, so I snapped to it and recorded one yesterday. I'm quick off the line like that! Long-time listeners of RadiOblivion have probably heard the "I shall become a bat" clip (graciously provided by my long-time friend, Jason the Goodman) that I occasionally insert, in non-sequitur fashion, into the show. I recorded my own version of that and pushed it in to the background of this spot. Its my favorite part.

Take a listen and let me know what you think. It should be put into rotation real soon on the station. I think you can download it from the RadiOblivion is Preposterous blog if any of y'all want to use it. If not, let me know and I'll get you a copy.

Getting Wild & Primitive In Studio A

Here be a couple snapshots from Kaiser Studio A last night where the Wild Sounds & Rock 'n' Roll were producing the audio equivalent o' stripping down to yer skivvies and running round in primitive fashion shoutin' "Woo! Woo!"

RadiOblivion is LIVE every Wednesday night at 10:00pm, Eastern Time on Real Punk Radio. And I'm told by those that were listening, and in the chat room, that it was a particularly HOT show last night. I wouldn't know because it didn't get recorded. As said in the previous blog post we're planning on podcasting the live version instead of the usual pre-recorded, over-produced version of the RadiOblivion podcast. We've been paying particular attention to the levels the last couple weeks to even everything out. For the live show I use my Mac, a Behringer Xenyx 1204USB mixing board, iTunes, a turntable, an ancient analog DOD delay pedal, and an iPod all pumped through the Nicecast program which shoots it to the Real Punk Radio server. And since I can't listen to the show whilst doing it, I've been relying on Jason "Big Guy" Snyderman and the other cast of characters in the chat to give real-time feedback on them said levels.

Hopefully, we'll remember to record next week's show and toss it to all y'all's podcatchers of choice via the RadiOblivion Feed. But, for the real good time, show up and listen as it happens, pals. And bring a friend!

RadiOblivion Re-Boot! Initiate Format Change

4325810565_8203c34383_m

A few folks may have noticed that there hasn't been a new RadiOblivion podcast eppy-sode in 65 days. Fewer yet may find that troubling.

RadiOblivion hasn't gone anywhere, friends. We've been broadcasting the show LIVE each and every week at Real Punk Radio (in it's new time slot) on Wednesdays at 10:00pm, Eastern Time. And that is such a hoot that we've decided to make a change; re-boot the podcast, so to speak. As soon as the little bug critters and kinks are worked-out, and the levels betwixt the iTunes, turntable, vox, etc. are acceptable for distribution to mp3 playing devices, the live version o' Radioblivion: Wild & Primitive.... LIVE! will take the place of the podcast that some of y'all have been sticking with for nearly four years.

That's right! It does mean a new podcast every week.

The hope is that during tonight's show those bugs will be worked-out, and the levels dialed in, so that next week's show will begin the new podcast format. As the plan stands we'll broadcast live on Wednesday night and upload the podcast the next day. Tune in tonight at 10pm, EDT and join the chat. Let me know how it sounds levels-wise. Only on Real Punk Radio, Rat Pfinks!

200,000 Plus, And Counting

4276394577_50c35fb383_m

A big, fat, huge "Thank-ee" to all y'all that have pushed the RadiOblivion podcast past the 200,000 download mark (207,800 plus, actually) over the last few years of this Wild Sounds & Rock 'n' Roll slopfest! The swell thing is that things keep moving upward. Since November of 2006 we've joined the GaragePunk Podcast Network, Real Punk Radio, Subculture Collective, and most recently, KGRG 89.9fm, in the the heart of the Pacific Northwest - known to Sound Hounds the world over as the launchin' pad of SAVAGE POUNDERS!

There hasn't been a new eppy-sode of the RadiOblivion podcast in about 55 days now due to the absolute blast we've (I like to make-believe that I'm several folk; thus the "we" all the time) been having with the live version of the show, RadiOblivion: Wild & Primitive... LIVE, heard weekly on the aforementioned Real Punk Radio. But, there's news about the future of the podcast that we're gonna save for another blog post. In the meantime we (again with the "we") want to remind you of some of the various ways that you can get yer dose of Better Living Through Discarded Music...

The RadiOblivion Feedburner feed has all your subscription needs covered, baby

That's good enough for an information overload. There's probably more, but that's plenty of links to give yer mouse-clicking finger a good callous.

Now, here's to the next 200k and more screamin' Blow Yer Radio Up, Baby!
